Soichiro Honda (Nov. 17, 1906 - Aug. 5, 1991). Japanese engineer and industrialist. Honda's designs and leadership made an indelible impact on personal transportation. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers created an award—the Soichiro Honda Medal— in recognition of Mr. Honda's achievements.
