As the Moveable Feast at UIW and in Higher Education continues, library staff and liaison librarians have been busy with new projects and are taking stock of how we are meeting the needs of students and faculty.  In response to conversations with students and faculty and in response to several comments on our last LibQual Survey, we have enhanced discovery and support for teaching, learning and scholarship in several ways.

  • Updates to the piloted GenAI Info Lit 101 module for Canvas shells
  • Health Professions libraries have new landing pages
  • You can now search for resources by DOI or PMID
  • Two new resources that help identify predatory publishers have been added to the Database A to Z list
  • We are repurposing space to create an area for primary archives
  • UIW Libraries has launched its open access collection of Faculty Publications in the Athenaeum
  • Tools in the Scholarship Toolbox series for Faculty
  • Graduate student focused workshops in Fall and Spring

As we continue to build robust and responsive research support and co-curricular programs and services, look for our partnered offerings with the Center for Teaching and Learning on issues of concern including GenAI.  

We are putting our enhanced multi-modal classroom to good use!  Keep the co-curricular instruction requests coming!  Your librarian liaison stands at the ready.

 

Tool for Embedding LibGuides in Canvas

We have a tool to embed LibGuides into Canvas.

If you embed the LibGuide using the LTI External Tool, students will have an active window that they can immediately use to access the library research guide for their course or discipline. For more information on how to embed LibGuides, go to this page with instructions on how to use the LibApps LTI.

You can request a custom course research guide from your Discipline Liaison Librarian. They can embed it if you add them to your Canvas course in the Librarian role.
