Off-Campus Access to Library Resources: Off-Campus Access

• UIW students, faculty, and staff have access to ALL electronic resources from off-campus.
   
• When accessing materials via the UIW Libraries' site, you will be prompted to verify that you are a current UIW student, faculty, or staff member by signing in with your UIW username and password:

• After signing in, you will have access to all UIW-only resources and other online content until your Web browser session is ended.
   
• UIW Libraries online resources may be accessed after signing in to an on-campus computer or device connected to the UIW network without additional user verification.|

• If you are asked to enter a username/password to access online resources through any screen other than the UIW sign in screen, start your search over at the UIW Libraries Website.​​
   
• If you can sign in to Cardinal email or Canvas, but cannot access library online resources, please contact the UIW Libraries Reference Desk at 210-829-3835, via Library Chat or by email to reference@uiwtx.edu.

You can ensure successful access to UIW Libraries' online resources by starting your research at one of the following UIW Libraries sites:

• Search Everything
  Search all library resources - includes books, journals, videos, reference works, and more.
• Databases List
  Find a research database - includes multidisciplinary and subject-specific collections. 
• Journals List
  Find a journal, magazine, or newspaper - includes titles covering all subject areas.

Links to UIW-only resources found through one of the sites above will allow you to sign in with your UIW username and password and get access from off-campus. By doing so you can avoid:

• Being taken to content that you cannot access.
• Being asked to pay for content the library already has.
• Being asked to enter a username or password you don't have.
