Off-Campus Access to Library Resources: Google Scholar or PubMed

These are the typical steps to successfully access UIW-only resources from off-campus when using Google Scholar:

• Go to Google Scholar using the special UIW Google Scholar link.
• *** THE UIW LOGIN SCREEN SHOULD POP UP***
• Enter your UIW username and password:
  
  
  
  NOTE: You will not see a UIW logo or name, but Google does now recognize you as an authorized UIW user.
   
• Enter your search terms in the Google Scholar search box and click the magnifying glass icon:
  
  
   
• Resources available through the UIW Libraries will display "ViewIt@UIW" next to the record.
• Choose a record and select the “ViewIt@UIW” link:
  
  
   
• You will be linked to the corresponding record in the UIW Libraries catalog.
• Select an option from the View It section:

• Go to PubMed using the special UIW PubMed link.
• *** THE UIW LOGIN SCREEN SHOULD POP UP***

  NOTE: You will not see a UIW logo or name initially, but PubMed does now recognize you as an authorized UIW user.
   
• Enter your search terms in the PubMed search box and click "Search":
  
  
   
• Choose a record from the search results, and you will see a "Check in UIW Resources" link:
  
  
   
• Click on this link to find out if the resource you selected is available through UIW.
• You will be linked to the corresponding record in the UIW Libraries catalog.
