ENGL 1311 - Composition I: Finding Articles in Databases

This guide identifies sources useful for completing assignments in Composition I.

What Is a Database?

A database is a "large, regularly updated file of digitized information." (Online Dictionary for Library and Information Science)  In layman's terms, a database is a searchable collection of material.  

A database can contain full-text articles, e-books, images, article abstracts, statistics, etc.  The library subscribes to more than 200 databases.

Use a database to locate articles and information on your topic. 

•  Click the Databases & Journals tab in the NestSearch box and select the Databases List box to view an

   alphabetical list of databases.  On this page you can also click the All Disciplines box to select a subject arrangement of

   databases.
