Tim Berners-Lee

Tim Berners-Lee in 2014Tim Berners-Lee (Jun. 8, 1955 - ), OM, KBE, FRS, FREng, FRSA, DFBCS, RDI, is best known as the inventor of the World Wide Web. He was award the first Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering in 2013. In 2017, he received the 2016 ACM A.M. Turing Award "for inventing the World Wide Web, the first web browser, and the fundamental protocols and algorithms allowing the Web to scale" (image source: wikipedia.org).
