Reliable/Reputable Resources: Books

This guide identifies resources that are considered reliable and reputable in an academic environment.

Reference Books - Get Background Information

Use books in our reference collection (to the right of the service desks on the first floor) to locate quick facts and general information.  They can be particularly useful to
identify terminology, statistics, people, events, timelines, and additional resources.
Another alternative is the Credo Reference database.  It is a collection of more than 1,300 electronic reference books, with more than 3 million full-text articles.

Books You Can Borrow From the Library

Books in the UIW library have been selected by librarians and faculty to support and reinforce the curriculum.  If your assignment calls for scholarly resources, books qualify.
See the attached PDF for instructions for using the library's book catalog.
