National Hispanic Heritage Month: Home

This guide provides information on Hispanic Heritage Month and the library resources available.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated each year from September 15 to October 15, and celebrates the history and culture of Americans whose ancestors came from Mexico, Spain, Central and South America, and the Caribbean.

President Lyndon B. Johnson established Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968, and President Ronald Reagan expanded it to a month-long celebration in 1988.
