MLA (9th ed.): RefWorks

Provides example citations used in works cited pages.

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a web-based bibliography and database manager.

  • Create your own personal database of references.
  • Organize references with folders for each project.
  • Import references from library databases or websites.
  • Use these references in writing papers.
  • Download plugins for Microsoft Word to format in-text citations and a bibliography.
  • Citation styles include: MLA, APA, Chicago/Turabian, MLA, and Harvard.
  • Share citation folders with others for group projects.

For more information, see the RefWorks Research Guide.

Create an Account in RefWorks

  • Use the "Create Account" link, not the "Use login from my institution."
  • Once your account is verified through your UIW email, you may change the email address to another email address if you wish.
  • You will set your own RefWorks password.
  • Your RefWorks account will be your account to keep after you are no longer a UIW student.
