Professional Organizations and Associations

AMCP’s mission is to empower its members to serve society by using sound medication management principles and strategies to improve health care for all. Managed care pharmacy principles are based upon the use of scientific evidence to achieve healthy outcomes while making the best use of money spent on medications and their management.

American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy

Founded in 1900, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) is the national organization representing the interests of pharmacy education and educators. Comprising all 105 U.S. colleges and schools of pharmacy including more than 4,300 faculty, 48,500 students enrolled in professional programs and 3,600 individuals pursuing graduate study. AACP is committed to excellence in pharmacy education.

American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists

The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists provides a dynamic international forum for the exchange of knowledge among scientists to enhance their contributions to health. We offer timely scientific programs, ongoing education, opportunities for networking, and professional development.

American College of Clinical Pharmacology
The American College of Clinical Pharmacology strives to be the premier professional society with the size, influence and diversity of membership consistent with the breadth of the discipline of clinical pharmacology that will: Provide innovative, unbiased, quality educational programs and forums for our membership, fellow health professionals, students and the public; lead in the development and dissemination of basic and clinical knowledge to improve rational drug use and patient outcomes; support and encourage discovery and development efforts designed to provide improved therapeutic modalities; serve as a forum for active public debate to influence scientific, regulatory, and public health policy issues; serve the membership through ongoing, open communication, recognition of excellence and service; and by providing opportunities to influence future directions of the College.

American College of Clinical Pharmacy

The American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) is a professional and scientific society that provides leadership, education, advocacy, and resources enabling clinical pharmacists to achieve excellence in practice and research. ACCP's membership is composed of practitioners, scientists, educators, administrators, students, residents, fellows, and others committed to excellence in clinical pharmacy and patient pharmacotherapy.

Through information, education, and advocacy APhA empowers its members to improve medication use and advance patient care.

 American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics

ASCPT is the leading forum for the exchange, development, and integration of translational science into the drug development continuum from discovery to safe and effective medication use. Clinical pharmacology is recognized and serves as the premier discipline at the forefront of the discovery, development, regulation, and use (DDRU) of safe and effective medications necessary for the prevention and treatment of illness.

American Society of Consultant Pharmacists

The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists empowers pharmacists to enhance quality of care for all older persons through the appropriate use of medication and the promotion of healthy aging.

 American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists

ASHP is the 30,000-member national professional association that represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, long-term care facilities, home care, and other components of health care systems. ASHP, which has a long history of medication-error prevention efforts, believes that the mission of pharmacists is to help people make the best use of medicines.

National Association of Boards of Pharmacy

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) is the independent, international, and impartial association that assists its member boards and jurisdictions in developing, implementing, and enforcing uniform standards for the purpose of protecting the public health.

National Association of Chain Drug Stores

Founded in 1933, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores works to provide the chain drug industry with a unified voice necessary for growth and success. NACDS is still dedicated to its original vision: representing the nation's leading retail chain pharmacies and suppliers.

National Community Pharmacists Association

Represents the pharmacist owners, managers, and employees of more than 23,000 independent community pharmacies across the United States.

Texas Pharmacy Association

TPA serves almost 4,000 members practicing in all areas of pharmacy, including community pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, education, manufacturing and distribution, speaking for all Texas pharmacy professionals and national leaders in lobbying, continuing education and practice innovation.
