Tips for locating items listed in bibliographies/works cited pages and items listed in the library’s electronic resources.

Citation Looks Like

Friedman, Thomas L. The World is Flat: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century. New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2005.

Refers to a book titled The World is Flat written by Thomas Friedman.

Use the Books + tab in the NestSearch box on the library's web page to to identify books owned by the library.  The most direct method:  use the Advanced Search link, select Print Books from the Resource Type drop-down list, and enter the title. 

Citation Looks Like

Friedman, Thomas L. “Beirut to Jerusalem to Washington.” The Writing Life: National Book Award Authors. New York: Random House, 1995, pp. 144-54.

 This citation refers to a chapter titled "Beirut to Jerusalem to Washington" that appeared in a book titled The Writing Life

      •  The quotation marks identify a chapter/section ("Beirut to Jerusalem to Washington") of the book.
