Poster Presentations: Organization and Content

Overview

You want your poster to attract attention and start a conversation.

  • Do not let the poster speak for you
  • Use bullet points where you can (this is not a paper)
  • Your poster is a visual abstract
  • Use sections with headers
    1. Background
    2. Questions
    3. Methodology
    4. Results
    5. Conclusion
    6. References (follow the specified format)

Layout Tips

  • Leave space (do not clutter with text)
  • Use a limited number of colors (between 3-5)
  • Try to stick to one font (two at most)
  • Be sure to start designing in the appropriate dimensions to keep resolution high
