Sunday, September 18 – Saturday, September 24:  Take a mug shot with a banned book in Mabee Library

Monday, September 19 – Saturday, September 24:  Honors students book display:  Books on Fire in Mabee Library

Wednesday, September 21, 9 am – 4 pm: Tables set up in the Mabee Library Lobby staffed by students with information about banned books

Wednesday, September 21, 9 am – 4 pm: Banned Books reading marathon outside Mabee Library

Thursday, September 22, 4:30pm:  Presentation by Dr. Ann David on school-based censorship in America in Mabee Library Reference Area

A discussion of the politics of book challenges and band and what you can do to keep books in kids' hands.

The Banned Books Week Coalition is delighted to host some amazing creators during Banned Books Week, September 26 – October 2, including a warm-up even with comics superstar Gene Luen Yang, Facebook Live events with the creators of the banned children’s books Something Happened in Our Town and One of a Kind Like Me and Banned Books Week Honorary Chair Jason Reynolds, and Twitter chats with Laurie Halse Anderson and Alex Gino!
